He found only two bears, two tigers, and some monkeys were the only animals still alive – but they were on the brink of death.
Alaa is struggling to bring in food for the animals every day, but he can’t do it alone. Rescue organizations are not capable (or willing) to enter the war zone to help out.
Alaa is the only person brave enough to risk it all for these poor creatures. Alessandra Abidin, a friend of Alaa’s, said that they are working to get the surviving animals moved to Turkey.
But that will take a lot of work and time. Time that these animals don’t really have. These animals have been suffering for six years.
