The civil war raging in Syria has claimed lives. But, more than humans have lost their lives. In the city of Aleppo, there is a zoo called Aalim al-Shaar. The animals there have suffered from this war too. As you know, in zoos, animals live in cages.
So as the war goes on around these poor animals, they are trapped in cages. No one is there to feed them.
No one is there to help them deal with the stress – and they are dying.
Finally, the owner of the zoo reached out to Mohammad Alaa Jaleel, an ambulance driver. Alaa rushed over to the zoo as soon as he got the call. He was devastated.
