In March, a local council did not renew the zoo’s license and the owner, David Gill, was given 28 days to appeal.
So, the zoo’s CEO, Karen Brewer, changed the name of the zoo to Cumbria Zoo and applied for a new license – tragically, the council granted Cumbria Zoo that license.
So, the animals will continue to live in squalor. A spokesperson for the Cumbria Zoo claims that they are working to improve the living conditions of all the animals.
So, what have they been doing for the past four years? CAPS investigators (and we) remain skeptical about the zoo’s intentions to help their animals.
