The temperatures dropped to -35 degrees (thirty-five degrees below zero) in Prince George, British Columbia.
That sentence alone may not be terribly unusual for this time of year, but what if I told you that that same day someone left a 3-month-old Yorkie-Poo puppy outside in a cardboard box.
That changes things a little bit – right?
Lucky for the tiny dog, a woman found her before it was too late. The woman named her Star.
Star had not only been left outside to die, but she had also been the victim of terrible abuse.
The rubber band that was wrapped around her muzzle had caused her lips to start to rot.
Keep in mind that the puppy is just three months old.
What would cause a person to use a rubber band as a muzzle?
What would cause a person to leave that rubber band around the dog’s mouth and then leave it in a box in subzero temperatures?
We will probably never find out.
But, as we mentioned, a woman found Star and was able to get her the medical help she desperately needed.
In the video below, you will meet Star and see the damage the rubber band caused.
Later you will see Star after she has recovered.
The kind woman who rescued Star ended up adopting her! I am so happy that Star was saved just in time.
Wait until you see her at the end! She is a happy girl with a loving family. She is safe and warm.
Please be kind to animals.
