Passerbys in Santa Barbara had spotted an abandoned pit bull lying down on a bench in the park – it was alone and was terrified of humans touching him. Turns out that the dog had been simply left there by its previous owner, how inhumane! Thankfully, the group took her Santa Maria Animal shelter for help. The poor dog was part of a breeding program, and was severely malnourished and unkempt.
In addition to all that, the pooch was also blind. Shelter staff decided to name her Polly, and they started to look for ways to fund the medical treatments she needed.
They posted Polly’s story on Facebook, and it was met with great success as people started to donate to help Polly’s medical bills!
