One particular vet from the Hocking Hills Animal Clinic in Ohio was recently reminded why his choice of profession was the right one for him. She took a stroll into the woods one day and met her old patient. She then posted a photo of a turtle with a strange shell on Facebook. The caption of the photo stated that the turtle had been in a car accident and she had used fiberglass to repair his broken shell. He had since been released into the woods, which was the same place where she had met him after so many years.
The vets also advised netizens to seek their help if they encounter turtles with cracked shells. For this turtle, it was alright to repair the shell with fiberglass as it was already fully-grown. However, if the turtle is not fully-grown, the cast should be changed occasionally.
Despite the lack of style, the vet had been a big help to the turtle.
Can you see the fiberglass on its shell?
