There were more than 800 dogs crammed onto a truck with barely enough room to breathe.
The small wire cages were all stacked on top of each other, and the truck was heading to a slaughterhouse in Guangzhou, China.

Peter Li, a Chinese policy expert for the Humane Society International (HIS), said that this shipment was the largest they had ever seen.

Some of the dogs had spread diseases to each other, and there were even pregnant females on the truck – and none of them were being fed.

It is estimated that around 10 million dogs are killed each year in China for their meat.

The dogs are hung, electrocuted, stabbed to death, or bludgeoned.
Tragically, some are even cooked or skinned alive!

You can’t tell me that is at all humane or similar to how other animals are killed for their meat!

Happily, a group of animal lovers were not about to see any of these dogs perish!
First, a man drove his SUV in front of the truck, forcing it to stop.
Then the authorities asked for health certificates. Any animal being transported in China needs a health certificate – if there isn’t one, the animal is likely a stolen pet.

Within an hour, there were about 100 cars and 300 people on the scene!
The people fed the dogs and gave them water. Dead dogs were removed from their cages.

It took 10 hours, but finally, the driver had to give up all the dogs because he didn’t have a health certificate for any of them!
Share away, people.
