This kitten may look like an ordinary cat – but it isn’t – it is a rare wild cat species known as the Pallas cat. They’re no house pets, however. A litter of four of these kittens was found by a Russian farmer.
He recognized that they were not just run of the mill cats – they were special, and proceeded to ferry the young kittens to reside safely in the Daursky Nature Reserve.
The cats are sometimes called manuls and are a species that is native to Central Asia. When fully grown, a manul will be about the same size as a house cat – but their faces are wider, and they have flatter ears than a house cat.
They will also be stockier with shorter legs and thicker fur than your average house cat.
