The two St. Bernards you see in this image were being forced to live on this tiny, filthy balcony in Juarez, Mexico. There was no way for them to escape and they were lying in their own waste. According to reports, the dogs had lived on the balcony their entire lives. A neighbor finally grew concerned and called Compassion Without Borders (CWOB) for help.
One of the dogs had an injured leg and wasn’t able to move. I wonder if the dog hadn’t injured its leg if the rescue group would have been called.
The owner was willing to give the dogs up – thankfully. Neither dog had ever gotten their vaccinations. The male dog with the injured leg contracted distemper and died.
The other dog, a female, survived and was named Ramona. CWOB was able to get Ramona moved to the United States.
