The pup, named Lucky, had ingested heroin and was suffering from a heroin overdose. Lucky was taken to North Texas Emergency Pet Clinic for treatment. Romero and Crawford were from Newark and were charged with possession of heroin and changing tags on merchandise.

The couple may also be facing animal cruelty charges. That last charge is a no-brainer. Of course, they should be charged with animal cruelty! Lucky was revived and take to the City of Carrollton Animal Adoption Center.
Once he has fully recovered, he will be put up for adoption.
