July 13 was a very hot day near the border of Mexico when deputies in Maverick County, Texas found a puppy left alone and on the brink of death.
The puppy was named Paloma Bagatta was alive, but her siblings were not.
The deputies drove Paloma to over the border to Mexico to see Dr. Omar Lawrence who began treating her right away.
Some volunteers from Loving Texas Pet Assistance also joined in the battle to save the young dog’s life.
Paloma had a viral infection, mange, and a skin infection.
The first battle to overcome was keeping getting her temperature down.
Paloma was at the vet clinic for 10 days recovering, and then she moved into the home of one of the Border Patrol agents and his family.
They will foster her while she continues to recover. Pet abandonment is a huge problem where Paloma was found.
Share away, people.
