Giant pandas have been an endangered species for years.
As of today, there are only 1,864 of them left out there in the wild, and it’s such a tragedy as these smart, adorable, and beautiful animals deserve to thrive and live for a long time to come.
Around the world, many experts are doing what they can to increase the population of pandas.
This proves a challenge as many pandas have trouble giving birth while in captivity.
In the Paira Daiza Zoo, Belgium, two pandas named Hao Hao and Xing Hui have been partnered together for two years in hopes that they would reproduce.
Thanks to artificial insemination, Hao Hao successfully became pregnant.
And when it was time for her to give birth, it was a momentous and breathtaking sight for staff who had cared for her for all this time.

Panda populations are increasing around the world thanks to these efforts, and we shall keep hoping that this trend keeps going!
