Or you could get manipulated into giving out important information, like a credit card number when the person or robotic voice on the other end tries to get you to sign up for a club or service.
Sometimes you will get multiple calls from the same number – but don’t be fooled. Just because you get a call from the same unfamiliar number doesn’t mean the person on the other end is someone you know.
The best thing to do is not return any phone calls that come from unusual numbers. If the call were important, they would not hang up after one ring. If the call were important, they would leave a personalized message.
