Trail cameras were set up in Celebration Park, Kansas in November 2016. There had been reports of a mountain lion and the Gardener Police Department wanted to see if they could locate the creature. The Kansas City Star reported that there were some – um, rather unusual sightings. At first, everything was quite normal.
The camera captured images of skunks, foxes, and coyotes. Then Santa, the abominable snowman, and ever gorillas were seen! Some of the local residents decided to have some fun! The people wore costumes and were caught on film acting rather odd!
One photo showed an older person walking down the road with a walker and a bow and arrow. Here are a pair lions that were wrestling for the camera! It is a good thing the mountain lion wasn’t out and about on these nights – he may have had a ball!
I wonder if the people in the photos were the same ones who called about the mountain lion. The police took it all in stride. They posted all of the hilarious images on Facebook! The mountain lion was never seen on camera (probably was scared off by the wrestling lions or the person carrying the bow and arrow!).
On the Police department’s Facebook page, the officers thanked the citizens responsible. Their sense of humor was appreciated. Lieutenant Lee Kraut said that the department doesn’t always get to see the more fun and respectful side of the public and was thankful.
