In a murder-suicide, 40-year-old Sheri Shermeyer, a mother, suffocated her 12-month-old son, John Russell, and then shot herself.
Before doing this, the Pennsylvania mother left a note – a long, angry message on Facebook to her husband one day after Christmas.

A friend had seen Sheri’s post and called the police. The police found Sheri and her son’s body when they arrived at the home.
In her 600-word post, Sheri told her husband, John, that she had become a hermit and that she was slowly dying inside.

All that Sheri could think about was leaving this world.
She told John that love wasn’t enough for him. That he wasn’t even capable of love.

Sheri told John that he would never see his son again and that he didn’t deserve to have a son or a legacy.
John, Sheri said, had become ugly and mean. Sheri was tired of being the only parent in the house.

At the end of the post, Sheri said goodbye and good riddance.
She wished that she had never wasted all that time with him. Neighbors were shocked to learn this news.

Many of the people who responded on Facebook said that Sheri should not be blamed or judged.
Clearly, there was a better way for Sheri. She just couldn’t see it.

She didn’t have a strong social connection with people, so there wasn’t much hope (in her opinion). Suicide is serious.
