Sergeant Jason Bos had the pleasure of being with his K9 partner for five years while he was in Iraq.
Cila spent every day with Jason, protecting him and enjoying moments that were fun and lighthearted.
They were best friends.
Jason and Cila did everything from detecting bombs on the side of the road to working with secret service agents.
Jason soon retired and moved to the United States because of a back injury.
Unfortunately, he didn’t return to the country with Cila.
Jason wasn’t sure that he would see his beloved friend again and became very depressed.
After two years, Jason still thought about his dog.
He soon learned that Cila was up for retirement.
The American Humane Association stepped in to try to offer assistance so that Jason could be connected with Cila once again.
The dog was flown to the O’Hare International Airport.
As soon as Cila heard her owner’s voice, she knew that she was home.
Jason wants to work with veterans to try to help them with the feelings that they might have after leaving the service.
However, Cila will have a relaxing job of sitting at home and being a companion to Jason.
The pair now live together in Michigan and don’t have to worry about detecting bombs any longer.
