Do you have a dress code or policy about what you can and can’t wear at work? Most businesses have some guidelines or expectations for what their employees wear. While you are at work, you are a representative of the company and need to project a certain image.
Joey Barge, 20, lives in Buckinghamshire, UK and wore shorts to his office job because he felt it was too hot to wear long pants.
The company Barge works for has a rigorous dress code policy, and shorts are not allowed. So, because he was in violation of the dress code, Barge was sent home a short time later.
Barge is claiming that the dress code policy isn’t fair – women get to wear clothes that expose their legs, why can’t a man do the same? So, Barge returned to work that very same day wearing a pink and black dress (dresses are allowed in the dress code) and guess what?!
They let him stay!
