Loyalty are what dogs truly stand for. Look past their wet kisses and wagging tails, your canine will always be there to welcome you home – no matter how long it takes for them to wait for your safe return.
A dog named Marrom is a shining example of this – he and his owner were homeless, but that did not deter their bond. When his owner suffered a cardiac arrest and needed to be wheeled to the emergency room immediately, Marrom immediately hopped onto the ambulance alongside him.
Marrom waited outside the emergency room of Hospital Humanitária, which was located in Limeira. But because pets weren’t allowed in the hospital wards, Marrom had no choice but to wait, and wait till his owner came out.
The hospital staff also brought the loyal dog some food and water to tide him through.
Marrom stood by his owner in the hospital for more than 32 hours throughout. Caring hospital staff also put up a sign in Spanish, which translated to ‘Please do not harm this dog as he belongs to this patient.’
Marrom was taken care of by local animal rescue and welfare group ALPA, who stepped in to schedule essential vaccinations and medical care for the dog to remain in tip-top shape. They even housed him while his owner was still in the hospital.
Marrom and his owner are now happily reunited.
