Georgia is an 8-year-old Shar-pei mix and a rescue dog from Hurricane Katrina. Recently, Georgia once again found herself in a predicament when she got separated from Kris Anderson, her human mom. On June 27, Anderson had taken Georgia and her other dog out on a hike in a rugged area of southern California known as the Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve.
The trio had been on the trail before, but this time Georgia wondered off and didn’t come back. Anderson searched for several days with the help of park rangers but wasn’t able to find Georgia. They started to assume that the coyotes or mountain lions had gotten to her first. Anderson had pretty much given up hope after nine days – but then, Georgia walked in through the doggie door!
