It could have been another unexpected wave. Major Douglas Hudson from the Galveston Sheriff’s Office said that there are no witnesses that saw Brandy disappear, all they know is that she never resurfaced.
Rescue teams including the Coast Guard, an H-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew, and a boat crew from U.S.C.G. Station Galveston searched for hours that evening.
Then the next morning a body matching Brandy’s description was seen two miles away from where she vanished.

There are no lifeguards on duty in the area where the family was, but there were red flags warning people about the dangerous conditions at the beach that day. Brandy was the owner of B’s Hive of Therapy Day Spa & Salon located in Palestine.
