They almost seem to have a metallic sheen to them!
The Chinese call them “horses from heaven.’ There are only about 1,250 in the world.
It is said that the shine in their coats comes from some unique structure in the hair itself, it is not from any unnatural source.
Turns out that some proteins in the hair will arrange themselves a certain way and when the light hits.
It is refracted and reflected just like a metal would do when light hits it.
Just as a science refresher, refract means to make light change directions and reflect means that the light is just bouncing off the surface.
