Coco met Lucky Lou at a refuge for unwanted birds in Vancouver, Canada and the two quickly became BFFs. They had both been passed around from house to house never finding a forever home because the trouble is that most people don’t have any idea what is it like to take care of a parrot.

Both birds were rescued by Danita Morrison, owner of the online store called Things for Wings. Morrison is also a bird lover and runs the help forum Avian Avenue.

When Lucky Lou developed lung cancer, Morrison took her to the hospital for treatment and while she was away, Coco would cry out of loneliness. This is when Morrison ended up taking Coco to the hospital to see her friend.
