In a village just outside the city of Rize, Turkey lives an 11-year-old girl named Hamdü Sena Bilgin. Her family operates a small goat farm (they raise the goats for their milk). Hamdü Sena has the job as guide and protector of the animals. Her helper is Tomi, her dog. Not too long ago, one of the goats went into labor while the herd was grazing on a hillside.
They were far from home, and it was up to Hamdü Sena to make sure things went smoothly, and the baby goat made it back home safely.
The goat gave birth without incident, and Hamdü Sena and Tomi led the herd back home. Hamdü Sena grabbed two backpacks and went back for the momma goat and her baby.
She was worried that both momma and her new baby would be too weak to make it all the way back home.
