According to Snail World, the shell protects the snail’s soft body and organs. The animal hospital was up to the challenge. They posted step by step photos of what it took to get the broken shell back together.
They made sure to mention that the glue was only applied on the outside of the shell.
After the shell was fixed, the snail was allowed to move back in!
On Facebook, the clinic stated that it may take a few weeks for the snail to heal completely – but things are looking good! Did you know there are about 60,000 species of gastropods on earth?
