Most of us have seen white and reddish-brown chickens. Those are the standard colors – right? When they lay eggs, the eggs are white or brown. But there is a rare kind of chicken that is all-black, but the eggs they hatch from are cream, just like the normal eggs.
Okay, okay, you say you have seen a black chicken before, but chances are the chicken just had black feathers and wasn’t all-black. Ever seen something like this before?
We are talking even the bones and muscles of the chicken are black – along with its feet, beak, legs, and skin.
And yes, if you are wondering, the meat is black too. The species is native to Indonesia and is called the Ayam Cemani (Ayam is Indonesian for “chicken, ” and Cemani is Javanese for “completely black”).
