Each tiny square of fur that is missing on this dog’s body is so doctors could remove the pellets and bbs. The dog, a 100-pound English Mastiff puppy, was found in Seymour, Indiana riddled with holes. The dog’s owner, Hayden Howard, 24, said the dog, Jackson, was shot while playing in the family’s backyard.
At first, Hayden thought the bumps were just insect bites, then he realized they were holes. Twenty-seven pellets and bbs were removed from Jackson’s body, twenty more are still buried in his body. Reportedly, another 20 bounced off his body. That is more than 60 bbs, and pellets fired at a defenseless dog!
Tom Woodward, Hayden’s neighbor, has been arrested and police suspect he is responsible. The weapons found at his house are being tested. So far, no charges of animal cruelty have been filed against Woodward. Feel better soon, Jackson.
Share away, people.
