When you think of a choir of elderly singers ranging from the ages of 73 to 91, you probably imagine them performing at laidback events in comfortable settings. But not the Young@Heart Chorus! In 2013, this choir took a trip up to the Hampshire County Jail and performed a song for the inmates that they dedicated to a member of the choir who had passed away recently.
They sang “Forever Young” by Bob Dylan, and did so with so much emotion that the hearts of the inmates were moved, and many shed a tear! When the performance ended, many inmates rushed to shakes hands with and even hug the singers, truly touched by their song and the honesty with which they sang.
