The older dog started to whine when the puppy was taken from her, so she was allowed to ‘babysit’ while Marco Antonio Rodrigues, a local animal rescuer, was called. The puppy was very young and would need to be nursed.
Rodrigues reached out on social media to see if anyone had a dog who could help feed the pup. Happily, someone had a dog producing milk, and they agreed to foster the pup!
The sad part of this story is that the person responsible for throwing the newborn pup into the trash will probably never be found. The two canine heroes of this story are two female dogs – the first one found the pup in the trash, and the other is nursing him.
The humans helped the dogs get the pup to safety. That is what I call teamwork! Share away, people!
