Earlier this month, Apollo and Adonis were surrendered to a high-kill shelter in Texas. Happily, the pair didn’t stay in that shelter too long. Cindy Droogmans, the founder of A-Team Elite Rescue Dogs, based out of Long Island, arranged for them to be picked up. A-Team Elite specialized in saving dogs from overcrowded shelters.

Droogmans said the two dogs were just shaking with fear when they arrived at the veterinarian in Huntington, New York. Both dogs were heartworm positive, which according to Droogmans, is probably why they were both surrendered.

Both dogs are being treated and are expected to recover fully. It was clear from the moment the two dogs arrived that they are closely bonded. They have a tremendous amount of love for each other.
