The abandonment of dogs by their families is heartbreaking and horrible. Anyone with a heart would be unable to fathom how anyone could bring their pup to an spot and leave them there. But that’s what happened to this terrier mix pup, who was dumped in Baillieston, Scotland, outside a Dogs Trust Centre.
The staff from the center tried to take the dog in, but she was so terrified from being abandoned that she ran off. Staff worked tirelessly to chase her and save her for over thirty long, grueling hours. But then a tragedy happened. The dog ran blindly, not recognizing her surroundings, and ended up on the tracks of the Baillieston Train Station. She was hit by a train there.
The Scottish SPCA sent over rescuers to try and save the dog, but her body and legs were so severely injured and she was in so much pain that vets made the call to put her to sleep so she would no longer suffer. Rest in peace, sweet dog.
It is illegal to abandon a dog in Scotland, in accordance with the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2006.
