They reported that she had two broken legs and would need surgery to fix them. Here we see Darla sporting her casts (which seem to be just about as big as she is!). Once Darla was going to recover, she would have been put up for adoption.
Until then, she was being cared for at a foster home. Sonoma County Animal Services has opened an investigation. But it is unlikely they will find the person responsible.
Darla had no collar and no microchip.
Sadly, Darla went into cardiac arrest shortly after her surgery. The doctors were able to revive her, but she died peacefully in her sleep a few hours later. Rest in Peace, Darla. Share away, people.
