It is likely that they will be back down to their normal weight by summertime. I am not sure I can buy that explanation, despite what their keepers claim.
Wild tigers don’t gain this much weight – do they?
So, why would a Tiger Park allow their animals to get this heavy? Do they not have an indoor enclosure where they can stay when the temperatures get bitterly cold?
The Born Free Foundation said obesity in tigers is the result of an unnatural diet and infrequent activity – they are poorly cared for!
