The male caracal will grow to weigh 40 pounds, while the females reach 35 pounds.
They live in the dry savannah and woodland regions, preferring arid habitats.
Big Cat Rescue reports that they are solitary creatures who interact with each other only during mating.
Females will give birth to 2 kittens on average.
The kittens will be weaned at 10 weeks of age, but stay with their mom for an entire year. Caracals in captivity have lived to be 19 years old.
