He played with them and helped socialize them. It would seem that Benny is giving back! This is how he was treated, and now he has dedicated his life to helping other unfortunate felines!
Ellen says that Benny gets very excited when she brings home a kitten (or a box full)! It is as if she is giving Benny a present!
Benny sticks his head in the box or carrier as soon as there is the tiniest of openings! The kittens probably appreciate having a feline figure to look up to! Benny has reportedly helped dozens of kittens.
