Bile farms are simply inhumane. The bile that is taken from the bears will be used in traditional Chinese medicine. The treatment of the bears is unthinkable. Caesar had lived on a bile farm her entire life.

She was confined to a small cage and has an open wound on her side so they can extract her bile. Look at this wound – and that contraption around her body is pure torture. It is a crude device that is strapped around her abdomen to keep a latex catheter in place.

The catheter drains her bile. The bile just flows into a metal box. Happily, the rescue group called Animals Asia took her away from that horrible place in 2004.
