Life is hard. Life is not fair. You are most likely aware of this. When bad things happen, it is nice to have someone there to help you pick up the pieces.
Especially if you are a wild animal. Back in March 2016, a coyote was found by the team at Animal Rescue Team, located in California.
The coyote’s troubles probably began when she was shot in the head. The bullet penetrated her frontal lobe and left her blind. Then, it is believed she lost her footing and fell 30-feet into a large dried-out riverbed (the Santa-Ynez watershed). She was dehydrated and starving.
At some point along her terrible journey, she ingested rat poison. Why the coyote was treated this way is unknown. The team had to do CPR as they drove her to the vet. She was on the brink of death. Shortly after being found, the staff at the Animal Rescue Team found four tiny cubs in the cage with her!
She endured all that suffering and pain and still managed to give birth to four healthy babies! Even though she couldn’t see her pups, she was a doting mom.
The plans were to let the coyote recover and regain her strength and then donate her to a wildlife sanctuary where she could live out her life in peace. She would certainly be unable to survive alone in the wild being blind.
Her pups, however, were to be released into the wild once they were old enough. Share away, people!
