Someone left a dog sitting on the side of the road in his crate in Massachusetts.
The dog, a 2-year-old Maltese had a few things with him in the crate: a leash, blanket, food, and some toys.
Luckily, the dog had only been there for a short time – the temperatures were near freezing.
The dog was left in an area where a lot of families live.
Police believe whoever left the dog there was hoping some kind people would take care of him.
The Animal Rescue League (ARL) took over his care. They say he is very friendly, loves treats, and hangs out with the shelter staff.
The dog had no microchip.
Police are hoping to track down his owners. Until the investigation is complete, the dog is not up for adoption.
But he is in good hands with the ARL – and he isn’t out in the cold.
Share away, people.
