While the Amish lifestyle has won both support and backlash, their misgivings about technology and modern modes of life force them to devise ingenious, albeit simpler, solutions.
An Ohio-based Amish community proved this to be true after banding together in the name of helping out a fellow Mennonite.
When presented with a daunting task, 250 Amish men combined forces in hopes of resolving the issue sans technology or present-day implements.
Joseph Hochstetler’s farm, nestled in Knox County, asked for assistance moving the pole barn from one side of the farm to the other.
While the winter cold and lack of resources could’ve deterred them from assuming the responsibility, the men plunged ahead and accepted the job with grace.
The precarious circumstances were no match at all for the men.
They merely picked up the barn with their hands, subsequently delivering it to the new location.
With all four sides of the barn manned, the endeavor proved a cinch.
No doubt quite a feat, they completed their mission in under five minutes.
Once finished, they retrieved their horses and returned to their communities.
