When they got home, with her tail tucked between her legs, Niya found a corner to hide in. Slown knew it would take a lot of time and patience to bring out the ‘happy’ dog inside.
That night, while Slown slept, Niya crept into her bedroom. Slown woke up suddenly when she felt warm breath on her hand.
Niya was there – it was as if Niya realized that she was safe (finally) and just wanted to say ‘thank you!”
