As you may know, texting, or sending a text message is the act of writing and sending an electronic message to one or more users of mobile phones. According to Wikipedia, most text messages are sent over a phone network while others can be sent via a cable network.
Initially, messages were sent using the SMS (or Short Message Service). Messages today can include alphabetic, numeric characters, and multimedia messages (also known as MMS).
An MMS can include sound content, digital images, videos, and emoji (happy faces or other icons).
In 2007, text messaging was the most used mobile data service – 2.4 billion out of the 3.3 billion phone subscribers sent messages.
