Kathryn Lee Gifford has been in the entertainment industry for a long time and has had more than her share of trials and tribulations. Her career saw a rocky start as casting agents would not just turn her down, but demean her, call her abusive names, and treat her with cruelty in an attempt to bring down her spirit. Yet, she rose through it all.
Today, the television host, singer, songwriter, actress, author, and comedian has met success in the harsh world of Hollywood. But after the death of Frank Gifford, her husband of 29 years, in 2015, and then of her mother Joan Epstein in 2017, Kathie became withdrawn and was seen less and less in the entertainment world.
To make matters worse, her children were far away and difficult to reach, much less spend time in person with.
In an interview with I Am Second, Kathie reveals the loneliness she experienced with the loss of her two loved ones. She discusses how overwhelming that emotion could become when she was alone in the house that held so many memories to her. But as she always has, she pulled through – a success that she attributes to her faith.
Through her belief in God and the knowledge that He would always be with her, Kathie slowly realized that she never was truly alone. Her loved ones has simply moved on to be in a better place, and until her time came, God’s love would help her overcome the hurdles life threw in her direction.
