About six weeks ago a mother opossum appeared on the steps of North Carolina’s Skywatch Bird Rescue. While the opossum family aren’t birds, the group took them in because the mother was injured.
Amelia Mason, the founder of Skywatch, said the mother opossum had made her way to the food prep area and a volunteer found her.
The mother opossum’s face and tail were bleeding.
She also had an infected wound on her forehead. The group believes that she got all of her injuries after being attacked by another animal.
